Jomsom, Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour Overview
This trip moves from the historical heart of Nepal into the high altitude Himalayas and the sacred Mustang region. Guests travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara, fly to Jomsom, visit the Muktinath Temple complex at 3,800m and return via Pokhara to Kathmandu. Jomsom, Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport a representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After settling in the remainder of the day is free for rest or a gentle stroll through the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening there will be a short trip briefing to prepare you for the journey ahead.
Day 2
Early morning departure from Kathmandu Valley driving toward Pokhara with an en route stop at Kurintar station. Take the Manakamana Cable Car up to the hilltop Manakamana Temple, a pilgrimage site offering panoramic views of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. After worship and enjoying the vistas continue the drive to Pokhara where the evening can be spent relaxing by the serene Phewa Lake.
Day 3
Take a spectacular morning mountain flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, soaring over the deep Kali Gandaki Gorge with breathtaking aerial views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks. On arrival in Jomsom you will experience the arid high altitude landscape of the Mustang region. The afternoon is allocated for acclimatization and exploring the local Jomsom market.
Day 4
Drive from Jomsom to the Muktinath Temple complex at 3,800 meters for the spiritual highlight of the trip. Visit the sacred 108 water spouts used for ritual cleansing and the Jwalamukhi eternal flame temple revered by Hindus and Buddhists. Perform rituals, take in panoramic mountain vistas and then return to Jomsom for the evening.
Day 5
After a final morning in the high desert environment of Jomsom take the flight back to Pokhara. On arrival in Pokhara the afternoon is dedicated to visiting major local landmarks including Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and Bindhyabasini Temple, experiencing the natural beauty and cultural sites of the City of Lakes.
Day 6
Begin the day with an early trip to Sarangkot to witness a golden sunrise over the Annapurna Massif. After sunrise return to Pokhara and then travel back to Kathmandu either by a short flight or by a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway, enjoying the changing landscapes between Pokhara and Kathmandu.
Day 7
After breakfast you will have free time for last minute souvenir shopping in local markets. Depending on your flight schedule the team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for onward travel and provide a packed lunch, marking the conclusion of the trip.
